Project Title: Studies Practices In agRIculTUrAL hIgh School sTudents

Project Acronym: SPIRITUALIST

Project Start Date : 01/10/2022

Project End Date : 30/09/2024

Hydroponics id defined as cultivation of plants in nutrient solutions rather than soil.

The purpose of this project is to create an educational process based upon hydroponic farming and to understand the basic concept of this operation.

Introducing hydroponics to students reveals several benefits. The students will feel a sense of accomplishment and they will learn about hydroponics and healthy eating habits at a young age, which can propel them to continue studying agriculture.  This phenomenon can improve the succes of this project, which has four main objectives:

PR1 - Interactive E-Curriculum: An interactive curriculum will be developed in which teachers who have completed the basic hydroponic farming training module (Hydroponic plants and methods of cultivation training module - Plant nutrition and hydroponic nutrient solutions training module) will be able to select the desired module topic and obtain information about it. Bilecik Univ (Interactive E-Curriculum: This curriculum will be designed as an educational platform for teachers who want to gain knowledge in the field of hydroponic agriculture on a global scale. As a result, it will add synergies on new methodologies to education and training.) - e-curriculum will be created in an international format as part of this project, and they will play an important role in training teachers and students as well as the necessary qualified personnel in Europe for hydroponic agricultural systems.

PR2 - Hydroponics Elective Course: There will be an elective course where teachers related to hydroponic agriculture, which will be determined as two or one lesson hour per week that will be applied to students for one semester, can transfer students from PA1 to their students. It will be planned as a weekly activity. (Because it will be designed as a weekly activity, these activities will be able to be used in youth studies or slightly improved for university students,) - an international digital platform.

PR3 - Hydroponic Agriculture Case Pool: PA2 will also allow teachers and students to share in-class applications and prototype applications created during the lesson on an international digital platform. As a result, a teacher and a student at a high scho learn about the hydroponic farming practices used in Croatia during the course. A digital platform forteachers and students to share their best practices.

PR4- Mobile Application for Hydroponic Agriculture Applications: The project's final beneficiaries will be prepared in their thinking, and agricultural technicians and graduates will be able to use the mobile app to learn about hydroponic farming and its applications.

The outcome of this project was increased knowledge among teachers of the scientific principles underpinning hydroponic production

PROJECT RESULTS

When the project is finished

1. An e-curriculum on hydroponic agriculture that encourages student engagement and active participation in both individual and group projects. It provides teachers with a cohesive set of materials from which to choose that can help them improve their classes. Everyone will have easy access without having to provide any information about their membership. It will be translated into the languages of the partners.

2. Hydroponics Social Club Work: It will be organized into weekly activities, with one-semester social club work. On the website, the project will be available for download. It will be translated into the languages of all partners.

3. Online case pool: It will take the form of a blog

4. Mobile app framework: It will be uploaded to the website, along with Delphi analysis questions and results for hydroponic agricultural systems, and anyone interested in downloading it can do so. Following the analysis, the university partners will collaborate on the publication of a joint article.

5. The mobile app developed as part of the hydroponics agriculture systems project will be an android-based application. Farmers, students, teachers, and locals interested in agriculture will continue to use hydroponics. After the project activity and pilot implementation are completed, the application will be transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. It will be updated for two years after the project is finished.
